Questions & Answers
Everything citizens and agencies need to know about TEND.
For Citizens
Will my name be public when I report an issue?
No. You can choose to report anonymously, or under your username. Your personal details are never shared with the public or the responsible agency.
What happens if the government ignores my report?
Every report is attached to a Service Level Agreement (SLA). When the SLA expires, the report is marked as an SLA Violation. This permanently affects the responsible agency's public performance score.
Can I report a crime on TEND?
No. TEND is strictly for physical civic infrastructure (potholes, power lines, broken pipes, abandoned public works). For emergencies or active crimes, please contact the Police.
Are the photos I upload verified?
Yes. Our system checks the EXIF data and geolocation of your photos to prevent fake or old images from being uploaded.
Can I delete a report I made by mistake?
Only within the first 15 minutes. After that, the report becomes part of the permanent public ledger. If it's a mistake, you can add a comment explaining the error.
For Government Agencies
How are we supposed to fix everything reported on TEND?
TEND does not expect immediate fixes for every issue. The goal is transparency. Agencies can update the status to 'Scheduled' or 'Awaiting Budget' to let citizens know the issue is acknowledged.
What if a citizen reports something outside our jurisdiction?
Agencies have the ability to explicitly reject a report if it falls outside their legal mandate. Admin review will then re-assign it to the correct body.
Is this replacing our internal maintenance software?
It can, but it doesn't have to. TEND is the public-facing accountability layer. Many agencies use TEND alongside their internal tools, leveraging TEND specifically for citizen communication.
How do we get access to our agency dashboard?
Official government entities can request onboarding by emailing gov@tend.ng. Account verification requires official government credentials.
Can citizens leave abusive comments on our agency profile?
No. TEND enforces strict community guidelines. Abusive language, threats, and harassment are automatically flagged and removed, and the offending users are banned.
Are performance scores public?
Yes. TEND publishes aggregated data on response times and resolution rates. Our goal is to highlight the agencies doing good work, while identifying where structural support is needed.
